The Read-Write Cycle Project, collaboration between the University of California Riverside and Chapman University, was a three-year grant program (2005-2008) that aimed to raise student achievement in reading through research-based reading and writing activities in content-area subjects such as science, social studies, and mathematics.
The Project was funded by the U.S. Department of Education's Institute for Education Sciences Program of Research in Reading Comprehension and worked with 36 teachers and their third through sixth grade students in public elementary schools in Orange County, California.
